Global bitumen exports are expected to drop 2.2% annually between 2021 and 2026, reaching 862 million kilograms in 2026. Since 2016, the supply has increased by 1% a year. In 2021, the US led the world in bitumen exports with 421 million kilograms. Belgium, Canada, and Trinidad and Tobago followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Kuwait saw an increase of 284% year-on-year, while Austria dropped by 80.5%. Global bitumen imports are projected to rise 0.6% annually between 2021 and 2026, reaching 2.49 billion kilograms by 2026. Since 2016, demand has increased by 1.8% a year. In 2021, the US was again in first place at 464 million kilograms. Egypt, Oman, and Canada followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Madagascar saw an increase of 470.8%, while Qatar’s import decreased by 84.7%.
