Germany leads European coking coal imports with 8.66 million tonnes of oil equivalent, followed by Ukraine at 8.33 million tonnes. The Netherlands and France follow with 2.91 and 2.86 million tonnes, respectively. Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia report moderate imports ranging between 1.64 and 2.58 million tonnes. Smaller importers include Italy, Austria, and Bosnia, with varying levels from 1.14 to 1.31 million tonnes. Imports in Sweden and Finland are below 1 million tonnes, and countries like Belgium, Hungary, the UK, Spain, Romania, and Moldova feature minimal imports.

Over the last year, Germany saw a 0.22% increase while Ukraine's imports surged by 0.58%. The Netherlands experienced a 0.4% growth, whereas France's imports dropped significantly by 2.5%. Trends in Poland and the Czech Republic were positive, with growth rates of 0.74% and 3.04%, respectively. However, Slovakia, Italy, Austria, and several other nations reported declines, with Slovakia and Italy facing the sharpest drops of -2.96% and -3.93%, respectively. Belgium, Hungary, the UK, Spain, and Moldova also experienced significant declines, with the UK seeing a notable decrease of -17.19%.
