Mauritius saw a decrease in pulp imports in 2020, dropping by 23.4% compared to the year before. This brings imports to 49 metric tons, a 5.2% decrease from 1997. Guyana overtook Mauritius as the top importer with 49 metric tons, followed by the United States, Germany and Italy. Meanwhile, Mauritius saw an increase in pulp exports, growing at a 3.6% year-on-year CAGR. Exports were up 4.1% since 2015, bringing the total to 55 metric tons by 2026. Qatar overtook Mauritius as the top exporter with 44 metric tons, followed by Canada, the United States and Chile.
