In 2021, China exported approximately 292,000 metric tons of pulp, a 2.4% increase from the previous year. This marks an upward trend since 1966, when exports rose by an average of 1.6% each year. Poland was the number one exporter, with 252,020 metric tons, while Canada, the US and Chile placed second, third and fourth respectively. China is also set to import 32 million metric tons of pulp in 2026, 2.7% higher than the 27 million metric tons imported in 2021. This follows an average yearly increase of 6.8% since 1967. The US, Germany and Italy placed second, third and fourth in the ranking.
