Mexico's pulp exports jumped by a whopping 1,570% in 2021, reaching 652 metric tons compared to only 39 metric tons in 2020. This was the lowest level since 1966 and put Mexico in 63rd place internationally, behind Iran, which held 652 metric tons. Canada, the US and Chile were ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Mexico's pulp imports are estimated to reach 890,970 metric tons by 2026, a 0.2% increase over the 882,030 metric tons imported in 2021. This is a 0.9% decrease compared to 1966. The UK was the top importer in 2021, with 882,030 metric tons, followed by the US, Germany and Italy in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
