Swiss pulp exports plummeted 77% in 2021 compared to the previous year, totaling just 950 metric tons. This marks a 44% decrease since 1966. Taiwan outranked Switzerland, taking the top spot with 950 metric tons. Canada, the United States and Chile followed, respectively, as numbers 2, 3 and 4. Swiss pulp imports are expected to drop 36% by 2026, down to 6,450 metric tons from 79,290 metric tons in 2021. This is an 8.8% year-on-year decrease since 1966. The Philippines outranked Switzerland at 79,290 metric tons, followed by the United States, Germany and Italy in that order.
