The import and export of chromium in Latvia is expected to increase over the next five years. Latvian imports are forecast to reach 232,020 kilograms by 2026, a 3.4% annual growth rate since 2021. Since 2000, however, imports have declined by 3.5% per year. In 2021, Latvia was in 22nd place in terms of imports, overtaken by the United Arab Emirates with 189,950 kilograms. Germany, the Netherlands and Japan ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Latvian exports of chromium are expected to reach 138,870 kilograms by 2026, with an average growth rate of 3.2% since 2021. Since 2008, exports have decreased by 6.1% annually. In 2021, Latvia was in 24th place in terms of exports, overtaken by Portugal with 114,780 kilograms. Poland, France and the United Kingdom ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
