Global chromium exports are forecast to reach nearly 70 million kilograms by 2026, up 0.8% year-on-year from 2021's figure of 66 million kilograms. This would be a 2.9% increase since 2016. In 2021, Russia was the top exporter of chromium with nearly 21 million kilograms. Poland, France and the UK followed in that order. Portugal saw a huge increase of 474.2% year-on-year, while Indonesia decreased by 71.5% year-on-year since 2016. Global chromium imports are expected to reach 45 million kilograms by 2026, a 1.1% decrease year-on-year from 2021's figure of 49 million kilograms. This is despite a 0.8% rise since 2016. In 2021, the US was the largest importer of chromium with 16 million kilograms. Germany, the Netherlands and Japan followed in that order. Namibia saw an impressive jump of 252.1% year-on-year, while Azerbaijan decreased by 61.4% year-on-year since 2016.
