In 2018, Kenya imported 961 kg of cigars, a 2.5% increase from the 938 kg imported in 2017. Since 1997, the demand for cigars in Kenya has decreased by 11.4% year-on-year. On the export side, Kenya shipped 1,180 kg of cigars in 2018, a 2.3% decrease from the 1,200 kg exported the year before. Since 2004, the supply of Kenyan cigars has declined 8.7% from year to year. In 2018, Kenya ranked 63rd in the world for cigar exports; Thailand took the lead with 1,180 kg. Myanmar, Nicaragua, and Germany followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
