In 2021, the country ranked 46th in production, with Ireland ahead at 5,580 kilograms. Myanmar, Nicaragua and Germany were the second, third and fourth largest producers, respectively. In 2019, Salvadoran cigar imports totalled 582.76 kilograms, down 33.5% from 876.44 kilograms in 2018. Since 1999, demand has decreased by 30.5% year-on-year.
