Togolese pig production is projected to reach 270,000 heads by 2026. This will be an increase of 2.4% year on year from 2021, when 232,880 heads were recorded. Since 1966, the Togolese pork supply has grown by an average of 3.5% year on year. Meanwhile, consumption of pork in Togo is forecast to decline by 0.8% year on year, from 10,000 metric tons in 2021 to 9,700 metric tons in 2026. This decline has been consistent since 2017, when the country recorded a 3.1% year on year decrease in demand. In 2021, Togo ranked 104th in global pork consumption, with Malta listed ahead at 10,000 metric tons. The United States, Russia, and Vietnam were ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
