The rise in pig production in Angola is on track to reach 943,640 heads by 2026. This is an increase of 2.6% year on year on average since 1966. Meanwhile, Angolan pork consumption is set to fall by 2% year on year average rate, to reach 172.37 thousand metric tons by 2026. This decrease in demand has been seen since 2017. In 2021, Angola came in at number 47 in the global pork consumption rankings, overtaken by Slovakia with 194 thousand metric tons. The United States, Russia and Vietnam ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
