Liberia is set to experience a slight decline in pork consumption over the next five years. An average annual decrease of 0.1% is predicted, from 21 thousand metric tons in 2021 to 20.94 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a period of stability since 2017. Meanwhile, pig production is set to rise. An average annual growth rate of 2.3% is expected, from 84,050 heads in 2021 to 96,530 heads by 2026. This follows an upward trend since 1966, when the rate of production was 4.2% year on year. In 2021, Liberia was ranked 89th in pork consumption, with Macedonia coming ahead at 21 thousand metric tons. The United States, Russia and Vietnam were the top three countries in the ranking.
