Macedonia's pig production is set to decline in the next five years. The average yearly decrease is estimated at 2.1%. This follows a 6.2% decrease in production since 1997. Meanwhile, pork consumption in Macedonia is expected to increase by 0.9% each year until 2026. Since 2017, demand for pork in the country has been stable. In 2021, Macedonia ranked 88th in pork consumption, with Nepal overtaking it with 22 Thousand Metric Tons. The US, Russia and Vietnam were the top three pork consuming countries.
