Armenia's pig production is predicted to increase by 2.1% year on year, from 50,540 heads in 2021 to 57,300 heads by 2026. This growth is expected to be slightly higher than the growth of 3% year on year since 1997. Meanwhile, consumption of pork in Armenia is forecast to decrease by 0.4% year on year, from 18 thousand metric tons in 2021 to 17.53 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a downward trend since 2017, when demand dropped by 1.8% year on year. Armenia was number 91 in the ranking of pork consumption in 2021; Luxembourg was ahead at 18 thousand metric tons. The United States, Russia and Vietnam were respectively ranked 2, 3 and 4.
