Cypriot pig production is forecast to drop slightly in the coming years. By 2026, production is projected to reach 65,270 heads, a decrease of 0.9% year on year on average since 1966. Simultaneously, consumption of pork in Cyprus is expected to rise. It is projected to reach 47,000 metric tons by 2026, a 0.4% year on year increase since 2017. In 2021, the country ranked 76th in terms of pork consumption, behind Honduras at 46,000 metric tons. The United States, Russia, and Vietnam took the top three spots.
