Belarusian pig production is forecast to drop to about 624,000 heads by 2026, down from 691,000 in 2021. This would mark a decrease of 1.7% per year on average since 1997. At the same time, Belarusian pork consumption is expected to rise to around 388,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 370,000 in 2021. This would represent an increase of 0.7% per year on average since 2017. In 2021, Belarus was ranked 30th in the world in pork consumption, just behind Portugal at 370,000 metric tons. The United States, Russia and Vietnam came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
