Swiss Beef Consumption is set to remain flat over the next five years, according to a new report from IndexBox. In 2021, demand reached 158,000 metric tons, up 0.2% from 2017 levels. Production in Switzerland is also expected to remain largely unchanged, with output forecast to reach 148,000 metric tons in 2026. This would represent a 0.2% increase from 2021, when the country produced 147,000 metric tons. Switzerland's beef consumption is set to remain flat at 158,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows a 0.2% year-on-year decline since 2017. Meanwhile, production of the meat is expected to grow slightly, reaching 148,000 metric tons by 2026. This figure is 0.2% higher than the 2021 figure of 147,000 metric tons. In 2021, Switzerland ranked 59th in global beef production, having overtaken Turkmenistan with 146,470 metric tons. Brazil, China and Argentina took the top three spots with 1.7 million, 1.3 million and 1.2 million metric tons, respectively.
