Portuguese beef consumption is predicted to reach 200,000 metric tons by 2026. This modest growth of 0.4% per year is up from the 0.2% growth seen since 2017. However, beef production in Portugal is on the decline, set to drop from 91,590 metric tons in 2021 to 90,340 metric tons by 2026, a decrease of 0.2% per year. Despite this, Portugal still ranks 73rd in the world in beef production, ahead of Romania. Brazil, China, and Argentina are the top three producers, respectively.
