By 2026, Latvian consumption is expected to reach 12,000 metric tons of beef. This marks an increase of 1.8% year-on-year, with demand remaining relatively stable since 2017. Production, however, is set to drop 4.9% year-on-year by 2026, with a total of 10,420 metric tons. This is down 6.4% since 1997. In 2021, Latvia ranked 126th in global production, with El Salvador ahead at 13,960 metric tons. Brazil, China and Argentina came second, third, and fourth in the list, respectively.
