Slovene beef consumption is expected to decrease slightly by 1.3% year on year over the next five years, reaching 29,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows an annual growth of 1.1% since 2017. Meanwhile, production of beef in Slovenia is expected to remain unchanged, at 35,600 metric tons, over the next five years. This follows a 0.1% decrease since 1997. Slovenia ranked 104th in 2021 for beef production, behind Albania. Brazil, China, and Argentina were the top three producers that year.
