Burmeses are set to consume more beef over the next five years. According to a report, beef consumption will reach 309.83 thousand metric tons by 2026, a 0.5% rise from the 301 thousand metric tons consumed in 2021. Since 2017, Burmese demand has increased by 0.3% year on year. Burmese beef production is also expected to increase over the coming years. By 2026, production is projected to reach 542,030 metric tons, an average growth of 2.6% year on year since 1966. In 2021, the country ranked 29th, with Japan overtaking at 464, 430 metric tons. Brazil, China and Argentina came in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
