Montenegrin beef consumption is expected to remain unchanged in the coming years, with no significant changes in demand predicted. By 2026, beef consumption is set to reach 9,000 metric tons. This is the same as 2021, and has remained constant since 2017. Montenegrin beef production is projected to decrease slightly between 2021 and 2026, with an average rate of 1.2% year on year. This would bring production down to 3,400 metric tons in 2026. This is a decrease of 7.6% since 2011, when the country was at number 148 in the global ranking, overtaken by Macedonia at 3,660 metric tons. Brazil, China and Argentina took the top three spots in the ranking.
