Consumption of olive oil in Costa Rica is on the rise. By 2026, it is projected to reach 2.3 thousand metric tons, an increase of 1.8% from the 2021 level of 2 thousand metric tons. The country's demand for the oil has remained steady since 2017, when it ranked 53rd in the world. That same year, Peru overtook Costa Rica, reaching 2 thousand metric tons. Spain, the United States, and Greece are the top three countries in terms of olive oil consumption, respectively.
