Consumption of olive oil in Morocco is set to increase by 0.7% a year on average until 2026, reaching 133 thousand metric tons. By 2021, demand had dropped by 2% since 2017, leaving Morocco in the fifth spot in the global ranking, overtaken by Greece, with 128 thousand metric tons. Spain, the US and Greece followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Production of olive oil in Morocco is forecast to rise by 2.3% a year on average until 2026, reaching 205 thousand metric tons. Since 1966, supply has increased by 5.9% annually, leaving Morocco in fifth place in the global ranking in 2021, behind Tunisia and its 179 thousand metric tons. Greece, Italy and Tunisia were the second, third, and fourth largest producers, in that order.
