In 2021, Namibia's sparkling wine exports fell 16% to around $109,000 compared to the previous year. This marks a 1.4% drop from 2005. Guatemala overtook Namibia to take the 66th spot in global exports, while Italy, Spain and Singapore claimed slots 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Namibian sparkling wine imports are projected to reach $1.3 million in 2026, an increase of 0.1% year on year. Since 2005, Namibian demand has risen 2.4% annually on average. In 2021, Namibia was 84th in the world rankings, with Botswana in the lead at $1.3 million. The United Kingdom, Japan and Germany followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places.
