British demand for sparkling wine is set to reach $1 billion by 2026. In 2021, the United Kingdom was second in the world with a total import of $951 million, just behind the United States. Japan and Germany followed as the third and fourth largest importers. Exports of British sparkling wine are also on the rise. In 2021, the UK shipped out $55 million worth of the tipple. This is expected to grow to $63 million by 2026, at an average rate of 2.2% year on year. The Netherlands led the way in exports in 2021, followed by Italy, Spain and Singapore.
