Kazakhstan is set to be one of the top producers of mushrooms in the world by 2026. Output is projected to rise to 525.7 metric tons from 518 tons in 2021, a growth of 0.3% year-on-year. This increase follows a steady growth since 2003. Despite this, Kazakhstan was placed 56th in the world rankings in 2021, being overtaken by the Czech Republic's 518 metric tons. Japan, the United States and Poland respectively placed second, third and fourth in the rankings.
