Global crab imports are expected to drop slightly to 183.2 million kilograms by 2026, down 0.2% from 2021's 185.7 million kilograms. Since 2017, global demand has decreased by 1.6% each year. In 2021, the US was the largest importer with 68.7 million kilograms. South Korea, China, and Japan followed as the next largest importers. Sri Lanka saw a 246.8% increase in imports year-on-year, while Mexico's imports dropped 38.3% since 2017. Global crab exports are projected to reach 226.6 million kilograms by 2026, up 0.6% from 2021's 220.6 million kilograms. Global supply has risen 1% annually since 2017. Canada was the largest exporter in 2021 with 51.9 million kilograms. Russia, China, and Bahrain followed in the ranking. The Dominican Republic experienced a 176.3% increase in exports year-on-year, while Tanzania's exports dropped 41.4% since 2017.
