Greek lobster imports are predicted to drop by 6.7% annually, from 29,030 kilograms in 2021 to 19,450 kilograms in 2026. This is a significant shift, since demand for lobster in Greece has risen 4.8% a year since 1993. In 2021, the country ranked 23rd, with Brunei in first place at 29,030 kilograms. China, South Korea and Italy came in at second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Greek lobster exports skyrocketed in 2019, reaching 655 kilograms from just 52 kilograms the previous year – an increase of 1,160%. Since 1993, supply has risen 69.4% annually. In 2019, Greece came in 42nd, with Latvia in the lead at 655 kilograms. The United States, the United Kingdom and the Philippines were second, third and fourth respectively.
