Maldivian demand for lobster imports is set to rise to 33,380 kilograms by 2026. This is an average annual growth rate of 3.3% since 2021, when the country imported 27,410 kilograms. Since 2001, the country has seen an annual increase of 6.3%. In 2021, Maldives came in 24th place in the ranking, with Greece just ahead of them at 27,410 kilograms. China, South Korea and Italy were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
