Indonesia is set to become one of the top lobster importers by 2026, with imports projected to reach around 7,000 kilograms. Since 1995, demand has grown steadily by 0.3% per year. In 2021, Indonesia ranked 39th in lobster imports, with Romania overtaking it with 6,650 kilograms. China, South Korea and Italy followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place, respectively. Indonesia's lobster exports have seen a dramatic decrease since 2018, dropping from 395,330 kilograms to 140,790 kilograms in the same year - a decrease of 64.4%. This is a 47.4% decrease since 1994. In 2018, Indonesia was ranked 15th in exports, with Luxembourg taking the lead with 140,790 kilograms. The US, UK and Philippines were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
