Ecuador is set to produce 38.83 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2026, according to a recent report. This is a 0.9% increase from 2021, when the country's emissions totaled 36.7 million metric tons. Since 1976, demand for greenhouse gas emissions in Ecuador has risen by an average of 0.6% a year. In 2021, the country ranked 61st in the world in terms of emissions, behind Myanmar, which produced 36.7 million metric tons. The United States, India, and Russia were the world's top three emitters.
