Canada's emissions have been decreasing since 1965, at a rate of 0.4% a year. In 2021, Canada was the tenth-leading emitter of greenhouse gases, with 538.4 million metric tons. South Korea surpassed Canada in emissions that same year, while the United States, India and Russia took the top three spots.
