Mexico's greenhouse gas emissions are projected to fall by 0.5% each year, on average, to reach 388.67 million metric tons by 2026. Since 1976, demand has declined by an average of 2.6% annually. In 2021, Mexico came in 14th place in terms of emissions, with 390.56 million metric tons. Brazil overtook it to take first place. The United States, India and Russia were the second, third and fourth highest emitters, respectively.
