Niger is set to experience a 1.8% year on year growth in emissions of greenhouse gases by 2026, according to data released. Since 1976, Niger's emissions have grown by an average of 1.4% year on year. In 2021, the country was in 129th place in the ranking of global emissions. It was overtaken by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with 2.1 million metric tons. The United States, India and Russia took the top three spots in the ranking.
