Vietnamese greenhouse gas emissions are projected to reach 358 million metric tons by 2026, according to recent figures. This marks an increase of 3.3% year-on-year from 2021, when 294 million metric tons were recorded. Since 1976, demand for greenhouse gases has grown steadily by 9.7% per year. Vietnam currently ranks 17th in the world for emissions, overtaken by the United Kingdom's 294 million metric tons. The United States, India, and Russia take the top three spots in the ranking.
