Israel is set to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by a tiny 0.4% year on year between 2021 and 2026, according to new data. In 2021, its emissions totalled 57.8 million metric tons, down from 58.5 million metric tons the previous year – a 1.5% decrease since 1976. In 2021, Israel was in 49th place in global emissions rankings, overtaken by Morocco with 58.5 million metric tons. The US, India and Russia took the top three spots, respectively.
