Ghana is forecast to see a slight decrease in tomato consumption over the next five years. Consumption is expected to reach 386.3 thousand metric tons by 2026, down 0.5% from 2021. Since 2017, demand has fallen by 0.6% year-on-year. In 2021, the country ranked 41st in tomato consumption, with Tajikistan coming in ahead with 398 thousand metric tons. India, the US and Egypt respectively ranked second, third and fourth. Production of tomatoes in Ghana is expected to grow 1.6% year-on-year, reaching 455,260 metric tons by 2026. This is up from 413,650 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, supply has increased by 2.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Ghana ranked 45th in tomato production, while South Korea topped the list with 413,650 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt respectively ranked second, third and fourth.
