Despite this notable growth, the long-term trend for Slovakia shows a decline in demand, with a 3.3% decrease annually since 1998. In the global ranking of air transport traffic for 2021, Slovakia was positioned at 145th. Lithuania outpaced Slovakia with the same number of departures, at 72. The top spots in the ranking were held by China, India, and Canada, which respectively occupied the second, third, and fourth positions.
