Since 2005, demand for bitumen in the country has risen slowly, by 2.4% annually. In 2021, Mozambique was the 64th-largest importer of the petroleum product, with Indonesia taking the lead at 1.6 million kilograms. Egypt, Oman, and Canada were the next largest importers, at numbers 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
