Japanese exports of bitumen totalled 61,000 kilograms in 2021, a drop of 4.6% from the 63,900 kilograms seen in 2020. This marks a decrease of 26.6% compared to 1995. The Netherlands overtook Japan as the top exporter, with Belgium, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago ranking second, third and fourth, respectively. Imports of bitumen to Japan rose 5.5% in 2019, reaching 2.43 million kilograms. This is a decrease of 0.9% compared to 1993. Singapore overtook Japan as the top importer, with Egypt, Oman and Canada ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
