Burkinabe demand for bitumen skyrocketed in 2018, with 28,170 kilograms imported - a 343.1% increase from the 6,360 kilograms imported in 2017. Since 2000, the demand has decreased by 65.6%. Burkina Faso was the top importer of bitumen in 2018, with 464.7 million kilograms. Egypt, Oman and Canada followed as the second, third and fourth largest importers, respectively.
