Latvia's imports of bitumen decreased by 62.8% in 2018 to 934,610 kilograms, down from 2,510,700 kilograms in 2017. This marks the biggest decline since 1999, when imports fell by 65.5% year on year. Russia was the main supplier, followed by Egypt, Oman and Canada. Exports of bitumen from Latvia were similarly affected, with a 95% drop to just 26,200 kilograms in 2018, compared to 519,490 kilograms in 2017. This is the lowest level since 2001, when exports fell 12.4% year on year. Pakistan was the main recipient, followed by Belgium, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
