Macedonia's bitumen imports for 2021 totalled 2.5 million kilograms, down 29 per cent from the 3.5 million kilograms imported in 2020. This marked a 50 per cent decrease in bitumen imports since 1999. Germany topped the list of bitumen importers for 2021, at 2.5 million kilograms, followed by Egypt, Oman and Canada. In 2019, Macedonia ranked 81st in bitumen imports, with New Zealand coming in first at 20 kilograms. Belgium, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
