Romanian imports of bitumen dropped by 4.3% in 2021, compared to the year before. Since 1998, the demand for bitumen in Romania has decreased by 14.1%. Macedonia took the 42nd spot in 2021, with 3.2 million kilograms imported. Egypt, Oman and Canada came in second, third and fourth place respectively. Exports of bitumen from Romania are expected to reach 2.4 million kilograms in 2026, a 1.3% year-on-year average rate increase from 2021. Since 1998, supply of bitumen from Romania has decreased by 25% year-on-year. In 2021, Bahrain took the 24th spot, with 2.2 million kilograms exported. Belgium, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago were the second, third and fourth biggest exporters respectively.
