Uruguayan demand for polyurethane is expected to drop slightly to 1.26 million kilograms by 2026. This is a 0.9% decrease year-on-year from 2021, when it was at 1.3 million kilograms. Since 1999, Uruguayan demand has decreased by 3% each year on average. Luxembourg overtook Uruguay in 2021, claiming the top spot with 1.3 million kilograms. India, Germany and Iran followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Uruguayan polyurethane export saw a sharp 49.3% decrease in 2018 compared to the year prior, dropping from 31,860 to 16,170 kilograms. This is a 39.2% decrease since 1999. In 2018, Jordan overtook Uruguay with 16,170 kilograms, followed by China, Italy and the United States in second, third and fourth place respectively.
