Polish polyurethane imports and exports are expected to rise over the next five years. Imports are forecast to reach 56 million kilograms in 2026, up from 49 million kilograms in 2021, growing at an average annual rate of 2.2%. This follows an increasing trend since 1999, when imports were up 1.5% year-on-year. In 2021, Poland ranked 11th in imports, with Russia taking first place on 48.8 million kilograms. India, Germany and Iran were the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively. Exports are also predicted to increase, reaching 17.5 million kilograms in 2026, up from 14.5 million kilograms in 2021, growing at an average annual rate of 2.9%. This follows an upward trend since 1999, when exports increased 3.7% year-on-year. In 2021, Poland came in 20th in exports, with Switzerland in first place at 14.5 million kilograms. China, Italy and the United States were the second, third and fourth largest exporters respectively.
