Maltese imports of polyurethane are forecast to drop by 5.4% annually, from 56,210 kilograms in 2021 to 41,370 kilograms in 2026. This decrease follows a 13.7% annual decline since 2000. Malta ranked 121st in 2021, with New Caledonia holding the top spot at 56,210 kilograms. India, Germany and Iran followed in the rankings. Maltese exports of polyurethane saw a much more positive outlook. In 2018, the country shipped close to 40 kilograms, a 1,900% increase from the 2 kilograms in 2017. Moreover, supply had grown 34.8% year-on-year since 2017. Malta ranked 94th in 2018, with Cameroon ahead at 40 kilograms. China, Italy and the United States came in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
