Portugal’s polyurethane exports are projected to increase 2.8% year-on-year on average over the next five years, reaching 9.2 million kilograms in 2026. Last year, the country was the 25th biggest exporter, with 7.7 million kilograms. Saudi Arabia, China, Italy and the US were the top four exporters in 2021. Portugal’s polyurethane imports are also set to rise, with an average year-on-year growth rate of 2.1% over the next five years. By 2026, imports are forecast to reach 17.3 million kilograms, up from 15 million kilograms in 2021. Last year, the country was 28th in the world rankings, with Singapore in the lead at 15 million kilograms. India, Germany and Iran were the top three importers in 2021.
